Cayman Iguanas

The 2012 Cayman Brac Iguana Survey has begun. Call 917-7744 if you see an iguana on Cayman Brac during the month of January and our team will come and survey it. For endangered species like this one every individual counts.

Mat Cottam talks to Environemnt Break about the upcoming survey: http://www.cayman27.com.ky/2012/01/09/iguana-research

We’re starting to get some initial reports from the survey and they look promising.

We also have a problem with invasive iguanas, as explained by Dr. Cottam on Environment Break, http://www.cayman27.com.ky/2012/01/16/a-look-at-the-iguana. These are making their way to the sister islands and so we want people to report both indigenous and invasive iguanas on Cayman Brac to the iguana hotline, 917-7744. http://www.compasscayman.com/caycompass/2012/01/16/Green-iguanas-invading-Sister-Islands/
